Have you ever paid attention to the addition of “fat powder” to your coffee

Drinking coffee seems to be a necessary drink for the fashionable petty bourgeoisie. Of course, many young people and the elderly also love it, especially the instant coffee with strong flavor and convenient brewing is welcomed by many friends. But there’s a substance in instant coffee that may not be friendly to your health — “creamer.” have you noticed?

In fact, it has a more romantic name – coffee companion, and a name that doesn’t live up to the name – creamer. The reason why vegetable fat powder is often accompanied by coffee is that it can enhance the instant and mixing properties of coffee, improve the flavor of coffee, give it “milk feeling”, and make coffee more delicious.

1、 There may be “worst” fatty acids

Although it is valuable to improve the taste of coffee, hydrogenated vegetable oil, one of the main components of vegetable fat powder, should be paid attention to.

This starts with the processing of hydrogenated vegetable oil. Generally speaking, vegetable oil is mostly liquid, and its unsaturated fatty acids are relatively high in structure. However, in order to make the vegetable oil from liquid to solid, so that the stability of vegetable oil is better, vegetable oil hydrogenation technology came into being. The hydrogenated vegetable oil has good stability, convenient transportation and strong processing performance, which makes the food processing industry very happy. However, in the hydrogenation process of vegetable oil, not all the unsaturated fatty acids can be acclimated to saturated fatty acids. Although the hydrogenation technology has been improved in recent years, there will still be some fish that miss the net to produce trans fatty acids in this process.

At present, it is found that trans fatty acids are the “worst” fatty acids. Excessive intake can increase the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases such as hyperlipidemia, atherosclerosis, hypertension, coronary heart disease, etc. Other studies have suggested that trans fatty acids are metabolized more slowly in the body, are more likely to make people fat, and may interfere with the metabolism of other essential fatty acids. It may even reduce insulin sensitivity and induce the occurrence of type 2 diabetes.

2、 Marked “0” is not 100% reassurance

There are various types of coffee on the market. According to the survey, most instant coffee contains plant fat powder, such as three in one, two in one, white coffee, latte, caramel coffee, cappuccino, etc. In fact, the state stipulates that all coffee containing plant fat powder will be marked with “vegetable fat powder” or “hydrogenated vegetable oil” in its ingredient list, which provides great convenience for consumers to buy.

Many coffee packages are marked with 0 trans fatty acids. Is that reassuring? In fact, this is a mistake. Because, according to the national standard, if the content of trans fatty acids in 100 grams or 100 milliliters of food is not more than 0.3 grams, it can be marked as “0”, so “0” does not mean that there is no at all. The choice of coffee containing plant fat powder may increase the intake of trans fatty acids.

Obviously, the less trans fatty acids you eat, the better. It is generally recommended that the daily limit should be less than 2G. Although drinking coffee alone requires dozens of drinks (for example, 1 + 2 instant coffee, about 15g a bar), there are still many ways and foods for us to eat trans fatty acids, such as refined vegetable oil, fried food, etc. So it’s necessary to minimize these foods that may contain trans fatty acids. If you want to avoid the fat powder completely, I recommend black coffee.

3、 Even if there is no fat powder,

It’s better not to exceed two or three cups a day

Caffeine in coffee is refreshing, but it also causes calcium loss, increasing the risk of osteoporosis. Therefore, people prone to osteoporosis symptoms, especially menopausal women and the elderly, try to drink less or not.

Generally speaking, healthy adults can drink two or three cups of coffee every day, and don’t drink too much. If you drink too much coffee every day (for example, more than six cups), you may become addicted, and your sensitivity to coffee will decrease. If you drink more coffee, you may have insomnia, tension, stomach discomfort, nausea, vomiting, rapid heartbeat and breathing, headache, tinnitus, etc.

In addition, coffee contains a certain amount of diterpenoid compounds, which will increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. However, diterpenoid compounds can be filtered out by coffee paper, so when you make your own coffee, you must use filter paper to filter.

Tip: it’s best not to drink coffee when taking cold medicine

Many cold medicines, such as Kangtaike and Baijiahei, contain ephedrine. Ephedrine can stimulate nerve excitation, and caffeine can also stimulate nerve excitation. If you drink coffee again at this time, the effect of stimulating nerve excitation will be greatly enhanced, resulting in “overdose” symptoms, such as rapid breathing and heartbeat, emotional tension, insomnia, nausea, etc.
